You generally need a major internationally recognized award or evidence meeting at least three of the ten criteria. USCIS also assesses your overall record and standing in your field.
You can self-petition without an employer sponsor, job offer, or labor certification. Your spouse and eligible unmarried children under 21 may also apply for permanent residency as dependents, with their own visa or adjustment applications.
Processing times vary. For an additional fee, premium processing provides USCIS action on your I-140 petition within 15 business days, which may be a decision or a request for more evidence. This does not speed up visa availability or the separate permanent residency stage.
